When should a sports injury be scanned?
From a clinical standpoint, imaging becomes important when:
Pain persists beyond 10–14 days
Swelling or instability is present
You can’t return to your usual training level
Symptoms worsen with load

Hamstring and calf tears
Achilles and patellar tendon pathology

Stress reactions and stress fractures
Persistent back pain in athletes
Early diagnosis changes outcomes. In sport, time and tissue quality matter. Catching a stress reaction before it becomes a fracture can save months of rehabilitation. Identifying a partial tear early can prevent a complete rupture.
