If you are dealing with pain, injury, or ongoing symptoms, a private MRI gives you the benefit of speed, certainty, and peace of mind that your health is in the hands of experts who really care.

How It Works
Book your appointment.
You can easily book your private MRI scan online, or by calling our friendly team during opening hours. We often have same and next-day appointments available.
Get confirmation.
After booking your MRI appointment, one of our team will get in touch to go through a questionnaire to ensure a private MRI is safe for you.
Attend your scan.
Arrive 15 minutes before your scan, register at reception, and complete any pre-appointment checks. Your scan will then typically take 30 minutes.
Get your scan results.
Your scan results will be sent to you and your chosen medical practitioner within 48 hours, so you can create a personalised plan of your next steps.
Before your scan, our radiographer will ask that you remove jewellery and empty your pockets, and provide a secure locker for your valuables.
During the procedure, you will be asked to lie on a table that slides into the MRI machine. It is important to remain as still as possible to ensure clear images. The machine will make loud tapping or thumping noises, but our cutting-edge MRI scanners are equipped with soothing lights, calming sounds, and nature-inspired visuals to help you feel comfortable and at ease.
The procedure typically lasts between 15 and 60 minutes, depending on the area being examined.
MRI scans are generally considered safe and do not use ionizing radiation (unlike X-rays or CT scans). However, they are not suitable for people with certain metal implants, such as pacemakers or cochlear implants, due to the strong magnetic field.
Always inform your referrer and the MRI technician about any metal implants, medical devices, or other health concerns.
Preparation varies depending on the area being scanned. For most MRI scans, you will be asked to remove any metal objects, such as jewellery, watches, or hairpins, before the scan. In some cases, you may need to fast for a few hours or avoid certain medications. Follow any specific instructions given by your healthcare provider.
After the MRI scan, you can usually resume your normal activities right away, unless you have taken a sedative. If contrast material was used, your referrer may provide specific aftercare instructions.
After receiving our report, your referrer will review the findings and discuss the results with you. If you have self-referred for your scan and require follow up, one of our team will contact you and you should arrange an appointment to see the required specialist.
The images from your MRI scan will be reviewed by a radiologist, who will prepare a report for you and your referrer. This is usually completed within 48 hours.
In most cases, family members or friends can accompany you to the MRI appointment, but they will not be allowed in the MRI room due to the strong magnetic field. They can wait for you in a designated area.
